nBraun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our Duluth, MN office.
nResponsibilities:
nPrepare proposals for moderate to complex projects.
nDevelop and execute whole scopes
nReview engineering work of others.
nPerform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies.
nMake geotechnical recommendations and prepares engineering reports for senior review.
nUnderstand and manage the need of clients through communications and proposal/project work.
nDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
nPerform the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, including but not limited to, familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.
nPerform civil design calculations (i.e. grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, utility design, etc.), sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
nCoordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the discipline group.
nReview drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes.
nIdentify complex problems/possible solutions and take the appropriate action to resolve.
nCapable of efficiently and effectively managing project teams including, engineering and field support personnel.
nOversee and train and/or teach Braun Intertec technical practices. Supervise and/or mentor junior level staff.
nCompile engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software.
nPrepare field reports documenting contractors work methods, test results, and the interpretation of these tests.
nWork within established procedures and/or protocols. Aware of risks associated with recommendations.
nDeveloped understanding of Braun Intertec services and has the ability to market to clients.
nUnderstand and work in compliance with corporate practices, health and safety policies.
nComplete safety training as required.
nMinimum Experience and Education:
nHigh School diploma or equivalent. Requires BS in civil or geotechnical engineering (MS in geotechnical engineering or structural engineering preferred) and 9+ years' experience. Requires PE Certification.
nRequires creative and innovative thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-department problems. Ability to qualify professional opinions and recommendations of less experienced engineers; applying engineering principles and practices. Ability to delegate and develop direct reports.
nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
nAbility to develop and progress multiple positive client relationships. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Must be action oriented, effectively/efficiently manage time and able to learn on the fly.
nLicensing or Certification requirements:
nValid driver's license and pass MVR as required.
