nProvide leadership for the daily financial operations of the
nGeneral Accounting Department and support accurate financial reporting across
nmultiple UCLA Health entities. As the Senior General Accounting Manager, you
nwill oversee general ledger activities, financial reporting, accounting
noperations, audits, reconciliations, and complex financial projects while
nleading and developing a team of accounting and financial professionals. This
nrole works closely with hospital departments, campus partners, internal and
nexternal stakeholders, and senior leadership to strengthen financial
nstewardship, resolve accounting issues, and support accurate and compliant
nfinancial reporting.
nIn this role, you will:

- Lead general accounting operations and establish financial objectives that n
support accurate and complete financial and statistical reporting.
n- n
- Manage the general ledger month-end process, including review of journal n
entries, schedules, analytical reviews, accruals, adjustments, and monthly
nreconciliations between the Medical Center and University general ledgers.

- Oversee monthly reporting packages, including profit and loss and cash flow n
reporting, and prepare financial presentations and dashboards for committees
nand senior and executive leadership.

- Ensure financial reporting aligns with applicable accounting guidance, n
including GASB 68, GASB 75, GASB 87, GASB 96, and GASB 103, and manage annual
nfund balance rollforwards and required year-end closing activities.

- Analyze revenue and expense variances, support complex accounting n
transactions, and respond to financial data requests involving new accounting
nguidance, agreements, projects, joint ventures, and potential acquisitions or
nhospital additions.

- Support internal and third-party audits, including financial statement and n
Uniform Guidance audits, and manage quarterly and annual OSHPD reporting
nrequirements.

- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on system implementations, n
upgrades, integrations, chart of account conversions, and other accounting
nprojects, including project planning, timelines, and user acceptance testing.

- Develop and execute departmental policies and processes, identify solutions n
to accounting and operational issues, and communicate technical and
nnon-technical information to stakeholders.

- Lead, develop, and retain staff by establishing goals, delegating work, n
monitoring performance, managing departmental resources and budgets, and
npromoting collaboration and accountability.
nSalary Range:
n$108,900 to $241,500 annually
nQualifications
nRequired

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Ten or more years of progressive accounting experience.
n n - n
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel,
n n
Word, and PowerPoint, as well as enterprise resource planning systems and other
ndesktop and web-based tools.

- Extensive knowledge of financial transaction systems, accounting policies, n
accounting principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.

- n
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Familiarity with fund accounting, gifts, grants, and endowments.

Ability to research and recommend accounting treatments for financial

transactions and related accounting analyses.

- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to direct staff, n
delegate responsibilities, establish priorities, and support departmental
ngoals.
