You''ll be the third or fourth engineer on the team. We work in a TypeScript monorepo (Next.js, Expo React Native, Node + Postgres on Supabase, BullMQ workers) and you should expect to touch all of it. Most weeks you''ll ship one substantial customer-facing feature plus a couple of smaller fixes. Every Friday we deploy and demo to the team.
What you''ll do
- Own customer-facing features end-to-end: design, schema, API, UI, mobile, the works.
- Talk to 2–3 customers a month — usually a 30-min Zoom about a problem they''re hitting, occasionally a ride-along.
- Help shape the roadmap. We don''t have a separate product team; engineers and the founders co-own what gets built.
- Code-review your peers'' work and be reviewed in turn. We keep a high bar and a low ego.
- Improve our developer experience. The next 10 engineers should onboard faster than the last 10.
Who you are
- 5+ years shipping production web apps. Doesn''t have to be a SaaS.
- Strong in TypeScript and React. Familiar with one mobile stack (RN, Flutter, or native).
- Comfortable owning a feature from spec to production without a manager pinging you for a status update.
- Care about the people using the product. Trade owners are non-technical; their feedback is gold and easy to underweight.
- Pragmatic about tradeoffs. We move fast but the product holds money — so quality, observability, and tests where they matter.
- You''ve worked on a small team before and know the difference between a 4-person company and a 40-person one.
- You''ve shipped a Stripe Connect integration, or done serious work with Twilio, Postgres RLS, or Supabase.
- You grew up around or have family in the trades.
- $170k–$210k base depending on level and location.
- Meaningful early-stage equity (top of range for the role and stage).
- Unlimited PTO with a 3-week minimum.
- One offsite a year (last one was Asheville, NC).
