About the Company

This diversified enterprise is building a modern AI engineering organization focused on delivering intelligent software solutions across multiple business lines. Rather than treating AI as an isolated research function, the team integrates generative AI, agentic workflows, and modern software engineering practices into production applications that solve real business problems.

Engineers are empowered to own projects end-to-end—from architecture and data integration through frontend experiences and AI-powered capabilities. The culture emphasizes technical excellence, product thinking, rapid iteration, and practical application of emerging AI technologies.

About the Role

This is not an AI research or machine learning role.

The team is looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer who has successfully transitioned into building production AI applications. You'll spend most of your time designing and developing enterprise software while integrating LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and modern AI tooling into customer-facing applications.

You'll own projects from architecture through deployment, partnering with product, data engineering, and business stakeholders to build applications that solve real operational problems. The ideal candidate is fundamentally a strong software engineer who has embraced AI as part of their engineering toolkit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build full-stack applications integrating modern AI capabilities
  • Develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, and frontend applications
  • Build and integrate LLM-powered features including RAG pipelines, AI agents, semantic search, and conversational interfaces
  • Design and maintain data ingestion pipelines and integrations with modern data platforms
  • Build production-ready applications using modern frontend frameworks and Python-based backend services
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards
  • Implement CI/CD, testing, observability, and cloud-native deployment practices
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact software solutions

Must Haves

  • 8+ years of Full Stack Software Engineering experience
  • Strong experience building both backend services and modern frontend applications
  • Production experience with Python, Java, or similar backend technologies
  • Experience with React, Angular, Next.js, or comparable frontend frameworks
  • Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs, Generative AI, RAG pipelines, or AI APIs into production software
  • Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Augment Code, or GitHub Copilot
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and data-intensive applications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also considered)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, CI/CD, and application architecture
  • Product mindset with the ability to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions

Nice to Have

  • Databricks or Lakehouse architecture experience
  • Agentic AI workflow development
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience
  • Experience working in startup or small engineering teams
  • Modern DevOps and cloud-native deployment experience

Why Join

  • Build production AI applications—not prototypes or research projects
  • Work across the full stack, from frontend experiences to backend services and AI integrations
  • Own products from architecture through deployment with significant technical autonomy
  • Join a collaborative engineering organization focused on practical AI innovation
  • Work with modern technologies including LLMs, RAG, AI agents, React, Python, Databricks, and cloud-native architectures
  • Competitive compensation of up to $180,000 base + 15% bonus
  • Flexible hybrid schedule with only 4 days onsite per month for candidates located within the Houston or Austin areas
