Senior Full-Stack Engineer role focused on building and owning Shopify and custom ecommerce systems, including cart/checkout, subscriptions, experimentation, tracking, and AI-assisted engineering workflows. The hire will improve launch quality and speed across Shopify, custom frontends/backends, Cloudflare Workers, and subscription flows while owning QA, deployments, and production reliability.

Role

Senior Full-Stack Engineer responsible for building and maintaining high-quality ecommerce experiences across Shopify and custom infrastructure. The role spans Shopify cart/checkout flows, custom frontend and backend services, subscription systems, experimentation and tracking, and edge infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Shopify, cart, checkout, and ecommerce funnel work (approx. 40%).
• Build and ship frontend experiences using React and Next.js (occasionally Vue) and maintain custom web apps and services (approx. 25%).
• Develop and extend Cloudflare Workers, reverse-proxy, and split-testing/experimentation infrastructure (approx. 15%).
• Implement and improve subscription experiences and customer portal integrations (Recharge and similar) (approx. 10%).
• Lead QA, release processes, code reviews, and uphold technical standards (approx. 10%).
• Integrate third-party APIs, manage webhooks, and design robust APIs and backend services.
• Implement and validate tracking across experiments, attribution, and analytics (Amplitude, Elevar, PostHog, server-side tracking or similar).
• Use AI-assisted coding tools as a force multiplier while maintaining engineering judgment.
• Monitor launches, catch edge cases, and communicate risks and scope early and clearly.

Requirements

• Production experience with Shopify: Admin API, Storefront API, webhooks, and checkout/cart/product/variant logic.
• Node.js (or similar) backend experience and solid API design skills.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, using Git/GitHub PR workflows, and owning production deployments.
• Proven track record debugging production issues and delivering fast, reliable, maintainable software.
• Comfortable using AI dev tools as an accelerant while applying engineering judgment.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with Recharge or similar subscription platforms (Skio, Stay.ai , Smartrr, Ordergroove, Loop).
• Familiarity with Shopify Functions / Checkout extensibility.
• Experience with Cloudflare Workers, reverse proxies, or edge infrastructure.
• Background in A/B testing and experimentation systems.
• Ecommerce analytics and tracking experience (Amplitude, Elevar, PostHog, server-side tracking).
• Performance optimization for high-traffic ecommerce pages.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar).
