Firmware EngineerWe are a rapidly growing technology startup focused on delivering next-generation drones for security and safety applications. Our company vertically integrates hardware and software to create leading edge capabilities in the UAV space, with a focus on saving lives.We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for products based on STM32 microcontrollers. You will work close to the hardware, implementing low-level drivers, real-time functionality, and reliable embedded systems used in production devices.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain firmware for STM32 microcontrollersDevelop motor controller/ESC algorithms for our various productsImplement and debug low-level drivers (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, ADC, timers, DMA)Develop firmware using C/C++ (bare-metal and/or RTOS environments)Work with STM32 HAL/LL, CMSIS, and vendor toolchainsIntegrate firmware with hardware designs and collaborate closely with hardware engineersDebug and troubleshoot issues using tools such as JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscopesOptimize firmware for performance, memory usage, and power consumptionParticipate in code reviews and follow best practices for embedded software developmentWrite and maintain technical documentationSupport manufacturing, testing, and field issues as neededRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experienceExperience with AC/BLDC motor control algorithmsStrong experience developing firmware for STM32 microcontrollersProficiency in embedded C/C++Solid understanding of microcontroller architectures, peripherals, and datasheetsExperience with bare-metal development and/or RTOS (FreeRTOS or similar)Familiarity with debugging embedded systems using JTAG/SWDExperience using Git or other version control systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience with FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systemsKnowledge of low-power design techniquesExperience with bootloaders and firmware update mechanismsFamiliarity with communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, USB)Experience bringing up new hardware revisionsExposure to automated testing or CI for embedded systemsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on real-world embedded productsCollaborative environment with hardware and systems engineersCompetitive compensation and benefitsRoom for technical growth and ownership
