The ideal candidate has strong expertise in embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), low level hardware interfaces, and firmware architecture. This role collaborates closely with hardware, software, QA, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance embedded solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers and embedded platformsDevelop low-level drivers, bootloaders, communication protocols, and application-layer firmwareCollaborate with hardware engineers to define system architecture and troubleshoot hardware/firmware integration issuesOptimize firmware for performance, memory usage, power consumption, and reliabilityPerform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practicesCreate and execute unit tests, integration tests, and validation proceduresSupport product bring-up, manufacturing, and field troubleshooting activitiesParticipate in requirements analysis, technical documentation, and project planningMentor junior firmware engineers and provide technical leadership across projectsWork with cross-functional teams to deliver products on schedule and within quality standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field5+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware developmentStrong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systemsExperience with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, PIC, AVR, or similar microcontrollersKnowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, or BLEExperience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or embedded LinuxFamiliarity with debugging tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggersExperience using version control systems such as GitStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret hardware schematics and technical drawingsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related technical fieldExperience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, LTE)Knowledge of secure boot, encryption, and embedded cybersecurity practicesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for embedded systemsFamiliarity with IoT devices and cloud-connected embedded applicationsExperience in regulated industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or industrial automationSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of embedded system architectureExcellent debugging and optimization skillsAbility to work independently and lead technical initiativesStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and reliabilityWhat We OfferUp to $150,000 a yearComprehensive benefits packageCollaborative, mission driven work environmentWork Authorization Requirement Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.Why Join Yotta Energy At Yotta Energy you won't be one of many, you'll be a key leader helping define how our operations scale.
