Senior Fire Alarm Systems Technician
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
Day to Day
Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity. Interact with AHJs for testing and resolution of any minor issues related to a fire alarm system final test. Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA. Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution. Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets. Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers. Oversee project and vehicle inventory. Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution. Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers and explain proper use and how to respond to any system signals. Manage onsite projects including their safety, quality, and performance. Review and understand smoke reports and program all requirements related to a smoke control system. Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other technicians. Train and develop other service technicians on equipment and company policies and procedures. Manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality. Determine placement of audible and visual notification and detection systems or components while in the field. Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
