ELS is hiring for the position of – Sr Financial Systems Analyst in Chicago, Illinois.
The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, support, enhancement, integration, and optimization of the company's enterprise financial systems, with primary responsibility for MRI Software and related reporting and analytics platforms.
This role serves as a key liaison between Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure financial systems are reliable, integrated, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial systems expertise with advanced reporting and analytics capabilities. This individual will lead system enhancements, support enterprise reporting solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, manage integrations, coordinate upgrades and implementations, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation and technology.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Systems Administration & Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert for MRI and related enterprise financial applications.
- Provide day-to-day administration, support, configuration, and maintenance of financial systems.
- Manage system settings, workflows, business rules, and security roles.
- Partner with IT and third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system, integration, and performance issues.
- Monitor financial system interfaces and ensure data integrity across integrated applications.
- Coordinate user onboarding, access requests, and role modifications in accordance with internal control requirements.
- Support system availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Business Partnership & User Support
- Serve as a trusted business partner to the Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Operations, and IT teams.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for system-related issues.
- Assist users with reporting, data analysis, process improvements, and system functionality questions.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and user training initiatives.
Integrations, Projects & System Enhancements
- Support and maintain integrations between MRI and connected applications, including banking, payments, reporting, and operational systems.
- Lead and support system implementations, upgrades, patches, testing, and enhancement initiatives.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and business readiness activities.
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate and implement new functionality.
- Support strategic initiatives involving financial systems modernization, reporting, analytics, and automation.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain financial and operational reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Support reporting solutions using Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Partner with business users to understand reporting requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility, accuracy, and consistency.
Governance & Controls
- Support internal controls related to financial systems and user access.
- Assist with audit requests and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, testing, and change management processes are followed.
- Promote data governance and best practices across supported applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience supporting financial applications, ERP systems, or business systems.
- Experience supporting MRI Software, Variance Analysis/Reporting solutions, Bottomline, or similar enterprise financial applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional business teams and external vendors.
- Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, and enhancement projects.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, reporting solutions, and financial analytics.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, month-end close processes, and internal controls.
- Experience with system integrations, workflow automation, and data management.
- Knowledge of property management, marina, hospitality, or multi-location finance operations.

Estimated Compensation Range: $80,000 - $90,000 in annual salary
