Senior Financial Analyst

Remote-eligible (onsite not required) | Contract, 12 months Summary team needs a senior finance operations contractor to improve the organization's planning, tracking, and governance over spend, then hand the function to an internal owner.

Description

• Baseline budget, forecast, headcount, and vendor and contractor spend; ensure investment goes to key projects, with simple tracking, review, and approval
• Lead contractor conversion and vendor consolidation efforts, from leadership authorization through execution
• Build an automated sole source of truth for spend with a continuous review cadence
• Deliver decision-grade insight on project effort data and OpEx spend
• Simplify PR and budgeting processes to cut time and documentation load
• Shift spend accountability (SOW, procurement, documentation) to engineering managers, with aligned incentives and visibility
• Document and hand off to an internal owner who can run it without you

Key Qualifications

• 10+ years in FP&A or finance operations (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis), ideally in a large engineering organization
• Hands-on Python and SQL; builds pipelines and reporting without engineering support
• Vendor and contingent workforce spend, including SOW, PO, conversion, and consolidation
• Track record of redesigning processes, automating manual work, and changing manager behavior
• Turns ambiguous data into a single source of truth and executive-ready insight
• Has transitioned a function to a more junior owner
• Clear communicator with executives; works independently

• Apple finance and procurement systems, Radar, multidev
• LLM or agent-based tooling for finance workflows

Education

• BS/MS in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
