Financial Operations Associate

A leading quantitative trading and technology-driven financial firm is seeking a Financial Operations Associate to join a newly formed team responsible for building and scaling its P&L and reconciliation function. This is a high-impact role for a controls-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving processes, and working closely with both finance and technology teams.
What You’ll Do
- Review and reconcile daily and monthly firm-wide P&L and related components
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks across trading and financial systems
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define business requirements for P&L reporting and infrastructure buildouts
- Liaise with external counterparties including brokers, custodians, and clearing organizations
- Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with technology teams to implement enhancements
- Support the ongoing development of back-office infrastructure, documentation, and controls
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial operations, trade operations, reconciliation, or accounting
- Strong understanding of at least one major asset class (e.g., Equities, Futures, FX, Options, Swaps)
- Experience partnering with technology to improve operational processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Controls-focused mindset with comfort working through large data sets
