Senior Finance Manager (M5)

Corporate ControllerJoin the Corporate Controller organization as a key member of the Global Finance Policy, Corporate Accounting & Training team. This role supports the development and governance of the global close, global accounting policies, provides technical accounting guidance, and drives enterprise finance training initiatives.The position partners closely with External Reporting, Global FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal and regional finance teams to ensure consistent application of US GAAP, strong internal controls, and scalable finance processes.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Policy & Technical AccountingSupport development, maintenance, and governance of global finance policiesProvide technical accounting guidance on complex and non-routine transactions (US GAAP)Assist in drafting technical accounting memos and policy documentationPartner cross-functionally to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and policy adherenceSupport implementation of new accounting standards and policy updatesPartner with global accounting teams to ensure consistent policy applicationPolicy Governance, Compliance & AuditEnsure alignment with US GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and company policiesParticipate in balance sheet review (BSR) processes and identify control gapsSupport external audit processes and preparation of audit deliverablesAssist in resolution of accounting issues and policy exceptionsContribute to strengthening internal controls and governance frameworksCorporate AccountingOversee global month-end and quarter-end close and consolidationLead quarterly balance sheet and income statement flux analysisDrive improvements in close timelines, accuracy, and reporting qualityFinance Training & DevelopmentOversee the design and delivery of finance policy and accounting training programsDevelop scalable training content (e.g., live sessions, e-learning, playbooks)Support onboarding and continuing education for finance organizationImprove usability and accessibility of finance policy resourcesProcess Improvement & TransformationIdentify and drive initiatives to simplify and standardize accounting processesPartner with systems/IT on process and tool enhancements (e.g., ERP, automation, AI)Support finance transformation initiatives across policy, accounting, and reportingPromote continuous improvement and data-driven decision-makingQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field6–10+ years of relevant experience (Corporate Accounting, Technical Accounting, or Big 4)Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reportingExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders on complex accounting topicsPreferred QualificationsCPA (or equivalent)Experience in multinational or semiconductor / manufacturing environmentExposure to SEC reporting and external audit processesExperience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred)Prior experience developing or delivering training programsKey CompetenciesTechnical Expertise: Strong US GAAP and technical accounting capabilityCollaboration: Effective cross-functional business partneringCommunication: Ability to translate complex accounting topics clearlyExecution: Strong project management and prioritization skillsContinuous Improvement: Focus on simplification, scalability, and automationWhy Join UsHigh visibility within the Corporate Controller and CAO organizationExposure to complex global accounting and policy topicsOpportunity to shape finance policy, training, and transformation effortsStrong career progression into Corporate Accounting, Technical Accounting, or leadership rolesPosition requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times.
