Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the financial oversight of a complex, project-driven business. This role is ideal for a finance professional who excels in project controlling , operational finance, and partnering with leadership to drive profitability and performance.
This is not a traditional accounting role. The successful candidate will serve as the financial lead for large-scale projects, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, risk management, cash flow visibility, and overall project financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of project controlling , including project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis
- Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project performance and improve financial outcomes
- Develop and maintain project financial models, KPIs, and reporting dashboards
- Analyze project variances and provide actionable recommendations to improve margins and operational efficiency
- Support contract reviews, risk assessments, and change order analysis from a financial perspective
- Drive forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management across project portfolios
- Provide management with timely financial reporting and strategic insights to support decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Significant experience in project controlling , project finance, or project-based business environments
- Strong understanding of project accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting
- Experience supporting large-scale projects within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, or related industries preferred
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- Proven ability to influence business leaders through data-driven insights
