Job Summary
The Office of Strategic Relations and Communications at CU Boulderis seeking a senior executive digital strategist to support theChancellor’s social media presence and strategy! The SeniorExecutive Digital Strategist leads the strategic development,creation, management, and execution of social media content for theChancellor and Chancellor’s spouse. The position is responsible fordeveloping and delivering a coordinated digital strategy thatraises the Chancellor’s visibility and voice. It promotes thoughtleadership and builds connections to important groups. The strategyalso supports CU Boulder’s mission, priorities, and reputation. Thestrategist will develop compelling, timely and authentic contenttailored to each platform and audience; find opportunities toamplify the Chancellor’s leadership and the university’s impact;and ensure a consistent, distinctive digital presence acrosschannels. The role requires strong editorial judgment, exceptionalstorytelling and writing skills, an understanding of emergingdigital trends and the ability to move quickly and strategically ina dynamic public-facing environment.
Reporting to the senior director of chancellor communications, thisrole will work closely with the Chancellor, his executive team,staff and spouse, and with social media and content creators fromaround campus including those from strategic communications,athletics and student life.
The ideal candidate will be a highly creative content driver with ademonstrated knowledge of Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads,YouTube and Facebook, while monitoring new and emergingchannels.
The role will work irregular hours, including nights and weekends,on and beyond campus in order to generate, capture and distributecontent. The position may occasionally encounter sensitiveinformation–a dedication to confidentiality is vital.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Chancellor social media and content generation
- Develop and implement an editorial calendar and social mediastrategy for the Chancellor.
- Capture, post and monitor various platforms where theChancellor or the Chancellor’s spouse has a presence.
- Attend campus and external events to generate content, withsome events occurring on nights and weekends.
- Develop metric tracking and reporting to measure social mediaoutcomes and refine the strategy on an ongoing basis.
- Build a comprehensive strategy specific to each social mediaplatform, with clear goals, audiences, content approaches, voice,cadence and measures of success.
- Ensure the Chancellor’s social presence is cohesive acrossplatforms while taking advantage of the distinct audiences,formats, and strengths of each channel.
- Continue to build partnerships and collaboration effortsbetween social media teams and personnel from around campus to aidin strategy, cross-sharing, content ideas and generation.
- Develop executive-level strategies that align with CU Boulderpriorities and goals.
Other duties as assigned
- Participate in news and media efforts, support marketingcampaigns, strategic events, crisis communications and other goalsand efforts for Strategic Relations and Communications or theChancellor’s office.
What You Should Know
This position will work normal business hours in addition toirregular hours, including nights and weekends, to generate anddistribute social media content for senior university leaders thataligns with the university’s strategic priorities.
What We Can Offer
- The annual salary range for this position is$85,000-$91,000.

What We Require
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, publicrelations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional job-related experience.
- Photography, videography, and editing experience, particularlyfor the social media space.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to measure, analyze, andreport on social media performance using platform- specificanalytics, web analytics, social listening and monitoring tools,and other measurement technologies.

What We Would Like You to Have
- Experience in managing social media accounts for seniorexecutives, elected officials, organizational leaders, universitypresidents/chancellors, or other high-profile figures.
- 7+ years of professional job-related experience.
