Job TitleLeads monitoring, evaluation and assistance activities for nuclear power stations in their assigned functional area, interacting with utility personnel, INPO/WANO management, and industry professional groups.Essential FunctionsActs as lead Maintenance Work Management and Outage evaluator on plant evaluations, WANO peer reviews, and assistance visits as described in the Peer Review and Continuum ManualIdentifies and analyzes problems with integration of work maintenance scheduling, preparation and execution, outage, equipment reliability, organizational effectiveness and performance improvement and learningIdentifies improper electrical, mechanical and instrumentation and control (I&C) work practicesEffectively communicates orally and in writing with all levels of the utility personnel, including maintenance shops (mechanical, electrical, instrument and control), supplemental personnel, first-line supervisors, and station managementLeads in assessing plant performance in the maintenance and work management functionsWork with the industry to improve in the outage, maintenance, and work management areasLeads in evaluation, assistance and managing of maintenance, work management and outage initiativesLeads the facilitation of Maintenance, Work Management and Outage working meetingsFrequent travel (up to 40%) is required to visit nuclear sites and other locations domestically and internationallyPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge in the operating experience and industry trends in maintenance, work management and outage managementAdvanced knowledge of the contents of associated INPO guideline documentsAdvanced knowledge of associated AP documentsAdvanced ability to understand and evaluate maintenance best practices and craftsmanshipAdvanced skills in building and maintaining positive relationships, handling complex conflicts with key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with INPO's missionAdvanced knowledge of INPO/WANO policies, practices and proceduresIn depth, comprehensive knowledge of the nuclear utility industryAdvanced proficiency in solving complex and multifaceted problems using data, trend, and analysis to inform decision makingAdvanced ability to use research, analysis, and stakeholder feedback to influence and execute strategies while remaining up to date with industry regulations and compliance standardsHigh levels of communication skills to convey complex ideas and strategies in a clear and compelling mannerAdvanced ability to work independently as well as in teams/groups, to align long-term organizational strategiesAbility to lead functional area and cross-functional teams.Ability to work and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive/private informationEducation, Licenses, and CertificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferredSenior Reactor Operator (SRO) certificationBachelor of Science degree in engineering, physical science or other related areaNavy nuclear trainingExperienceRequiredSix or more years of professional work experience,Four or more years of experience in relevant specialty areaTwo years of supervisory or equivalent experiencePreferredFive or more years of nuclear plant experienceTwo years of INPO/WANO evaluation experienceTwo years of manager or equivalent experiencePrevious experience as a Maintenance Superintendent, Work Management Manager, Maintenance Manager or Outage Manager experienceAdditional RequirementsWork ContextMust be able to work prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to work under minimal supervisionMust be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawlMust be able to lift 25 poundsMust be able to travel domestically or internationally by plane or carMust have a US state or territory issued Real ID compliant driver's license or identification cardGeneral RequirementsBehaviors and Assessments/Additional RequirementsAll INPO employees are expected to abide by behavioral expectations as outlined in INPO's Core Values, Team Effectiveness Attributes, and Leadership Effectiveness AttributesEmployment is dependent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol testThis position requires unescorted access authorization to nuclear power stationsThis position requires direct or indirect access to certain export-controlled technology, for which INPO may be required to obtain an export license in accordance with applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.
