Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its South Florida team in Dania Beach. This individual will play a critical role in securing large-scale commercial mechanical projects by preparing accurate estimates, managing the bid process, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, addendums, RFIs, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and develop accurate project estimates.
- Prepare and distribute subcontractor bid packages.
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor coverage throughout the bidding process.
- Manage bid-day activities, scope reviews, and cost analysis.
- Maintain strong working relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with project management teams to ensure a successful turnover of awarded projects.
- Participate in networking activities and maintain strong industry relationships throughout the South Florida market.
Requirements
- Seven to ten years of commercial mechanical estimating experience.
- Extensive experience with commercial HVAC systems, including chilled water, condenser water, glycol, refrigeration, and ductwork systems.
- Experience supporting large new-construction projects ranging from approximately $2 million to more than $100 million.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs, and addendums.
- Experience with FAST-PIPE, Quote Express, QuickPen, or comparable estimating software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven history of stability, career progression, and long-term tenure.
