Southern Search is conducting a search on behalf of a well-established, multi-generational general contractor with a strong multifamily and commercial presence in the Tampa market. The firm is growing, evolving its processes, and looking for a Senior Estimator to help take preconstruction to the next level.

The Opportunity

This is a chance to lead the estimating effort on projects that come primarily through repeat clients and relationships — this team wins by submitting early and coming in strong with hard bids, not chasing cold work. You'll build budget proposals through the hard cost phase, sit at the table with clients during preconstruction, and help sharpen the process along the way. The company is also looking to grow back into government work, adding even more stability to an already steady pipeline. This role has a clear path toward Director of Preconstruction within 2-4 years.

What You'll Do

• Lead the estimating process from early budget proposals through hard cost/bid phase
• Prepare and present competitive bids and negotiated proposals
• Build win strategies and lead client-facing presentations during pursuits
• Manage relationships with clients and design teams throughout preconstruction
• Help refine and modernize estimating processes and workflow
• Partner with operations on project risk review and profitability alignment
• Track and report accurate project cost history

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of construction estimating experience, ideally with a larger firm background
• Proficiency in Procore and strong Excel skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• A mix of strong technical, professional, and people skills
• Comfort leading interviews and presenting to clients

Salary range of $120,000–$170,000 plus a discretionary bonus, with full benefits and future profit-sharing opportunity as the company continues to grow.
