SeniorEstimator

ReportingtoReArch’sChiefEstimator,theSeniorEstimatorplaysaleadroleinthepreconstructionprocessandisresponsibleforpreparingandoverseeingprojectbudgets,pre-bidpackages,andfull-scopeestimatesbasedonDesign-Buildand/orConstructionManagerconstructiondocuments.

SeniorEstimatorsleadthedevelopmentofschematicandconstructiondocumentestimates,coordinatewithprojectmanagementteamsandtradepartners,andmanagethesolicitationandevaluationofsubcontractorbidsandscopesofwork.Thisroleisresponsiblefordevelopingcomprehensivecostmodels,identifyingprojectrisksandopportunities,andensuringestimatesarecomplete,accurate,andalignedwithprojectgoals.SeniorEstimatorsalsomentorandsupportjuniorestimators,helpingtodevelopestimatingstandards,improveprocesses,andstrengthentheoverallpreconstructionteam.

RegulartravelthroughoutVermontandNewHampshireisrequiredinordertoattendprojectsitepre-bidmeetings,sitetours,andpost-bidinterviews.Thisisanin-personrolethatmaybebasedatourSouthBurlington,VT;Lebanon,NH;orPortsmouth,NHofficelocation.Thestartingpayforthispositionis$115,000–$160,000/year,dependingonexperience.

Qualifications

Theidealcandidatewillhaveatleast10yearsofexperienceinpreconstruction/estimatingoncommercialconstructionprojects,includingexperienceleadingestimatesforprojectsvaluedbetween$20Mand$50M.ABachelor’sdegreeinConstructionManagement,Engineering,orarelatedfieldispreferred;anequivalentcombinationofeducationandworkexperienceinconstructionestimatingwillbeconsidered.

Candidatesshoulddemonstratestrongleadership,estimating,budgeting,negotiating,andpresentationskills,aswellastheabilitytoguideestimatingstrategyandmentorjuniorstaff.Knowledgeandexperiencewithcivil/siteconstruction,foundationandstructuralsystems,casework,doors,specialties,interiorfinishes,exteriorbuildingwallsystems,mechanicalandelectricalsystems,andsustainableorgreenbuildingpracticesispreferred.
