Job Summary:
The Senior Estimator will be driven to win projects and will be able to multitask to provide estimating on multiple projects. This will include providing takeoffs, assisting in pricing and soliciting bidders, and in getting the project contracted and started.
Essential Job Functions:
·Seek bid documents and maintain contact with prospective client representatives.
·Perform site visits to accurately determine work conditions and needs.
·Perform quantity takeoffs from electronic or hard-copy plans.
·Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
·Develop conceptual, budgetary and hard-bid estimates utilizing estimating software
·Present and discuss estimates for final pricing decisions by General Manager
·Prepare budgets, GMPs, and bid proposals.
·Revise bids as requested by clients.
·Support project handoff from preconstruction to operations.
·Follow up on submitted proposals and assist during contract negotiations and award process.
·Update/enhance bidding database.
·Maintain bid log and consult internally as needed.
·Quantify cost impact of ongoing project changes and assist in developing change orders.
·Support construction operations and project management when warranted.
·Lead and develop regional estimators
·The team member is also expected to perform other duties and functions as required from time to time.
Qualifications:
·Minimum 3 years of commercial estimating experience
·Estimating software proficiency along with MS Office
·Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
·Strong knowledge of site work and construction operations
·Must have valid driver's license
·Must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task when warranted.
·4 year degree preferably in construction management or civil engineering
Working Conditions:
·Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings requiring sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
·Travel to job sites as required.
·Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required
