We are supporting a very ambitious and leading regional GC in their search for a Senior Estimator to join their team in Westchester County. Our client is aiming to increase their annual turnover by 50% in the short-term and this hire is part of a strategic long-term vision with the candidate in line to lead the entire estimating division in the next 3-5 years.
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for both negotiated and hard project bids.
- Develop comprehensive material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Prepare bid packages, proposals and budget recommendations.
- Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, labour productivity, construction methods, and material availability.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and owners during preconstruction.
- Mentor and assist in the development of junior estimators.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-10 years experience estimating for General Contractors.
- Demonstrable history of leading and mentoring junior Estimators.
- Proficiency with key software such as Timberline and Onscreen Takeoff
