Senior Estimator - HVAC & Plumbing

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established mechanical contracting company seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take a leading role in estimating, preconstruction, client relationships, and project support.

This is an opportunity for an estimator who wants to have a greater impact beyond producing estimates — helping shape proposals, identify project risk and profitability, and build relationships that contribute to the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate estimates and detailed takeoffs for HVAC and plumbing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead the proposal process, including vendor/subcontractor pricing, bid summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and pricing recommendations.
• Partner with operations and project management throughout preconstruction and project turnover.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Support project pursuits and business development by providing technical expertise and helping identify opportunities for profitable growth.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive mechanical/plumbing estimating experience with a proven track record.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, construction methods, and project costs, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
• Ability to independently interpret complex drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and construction documents.
• Experience with estimating software and strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• A commercially minded professional who is comfortable working directly with customers and industry partners.
