Description
D2 Excavation is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates for residential, commercial, and public works excavation and concrete projects. This role is responsible for reviewing bid opportunities, analyzing project plans and specifications, developing cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, preparing proposals, and supporting project handoff after a project is awarded.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, comfortable working with construction documents, and enjoys building repeatable systems and improving estimating processes as the company continues to grow.
The Estimator will be responsible for most company estimates, with the owner providing final review and approval before submission.
This is not a field-work position. The role is intended for an independent, self-motivated estimator who can operate at a senior level.
Qualifications
- Experience estimating excavation, civil, utility, grading, or site development projects preferred
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience with construction estimating software preferred
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously
- Minimum of two years of estimating experience
- Excavation and concrete experience required
- Civil construction, public works, and prevailing wage experience required
- Experience reading plans and specifications required
- Proficiency with Excel required
