Compensation: $210,000–$260,000 base salary + 15% bonus
My client, an established general contractor delivering major mission-critical projects across the United States, is looking for a Senior Estimator with prior data center construction experience to join its Houston team.
This individual will lead preconstruction and estimating activities for large-scale hyperscale and colocation data center developments valued between $200M and $600M.
Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual, schematic design, design development and final construction estimates
- Develop detailed estimates for hyperscale and colocation data center projects
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive cost plans
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documents for scope gaps and risks
- Manage subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid packages and proposal evaluations
- Complete bid leveling and support subcontractor selection
- Partner with operations, design, scheduling and procurement teams
- Lead value engineering and constructability reviews
- Maintain historical cost data and current market pricing
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and cost-saving opportunities
- Present estimates and commercial recommendations to leadership and clients
- Support project handover from preconstruction into construction
Requirements
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical facilities
- Strong understanding of large-scale construction and MEP systems
- Experience estimating projects valued at $200M or more
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documents
- Experience with estimating and take-off software
- Strong commercial, analytical and communication skills
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
