Job Summary
Prepares Cost Estimates, Outline Specifications, and Value Engineering for construction projects. Investigates design, code, agency, and owner requirements to properly define the scope of work. Prepares qualification statements to clarify items that are unclear.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, create, and complete entire project estimates.
- Research specified materials related to the project and find alternatives as required.
- Develop Value Engineering ideas and associated costs.
- Develop preliminary preconstruction schedules.
- Understand project staffing and general condition requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
- Compete detailed on-screen takeoff.
- Set up qualified subcontractor bid lists and solicit bids.
- Analyze bids and scopes.
- Prepare presentation documents.
- Present cost information to a client professionally.
- Review, analyze, and correct others’ estimates.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience as a Senior Estimator in one or more of the following markets: multi-family housing, commercial, and/or K12 construction.
- Experience in commercial projects.
- Knowledge of current market pricing/unit pricing.
- Ability to lead, create, and complete entire project estimates.
- Ability to develop value engineering ideas and associated costs.
- Strong owner, architect, and subcontractor relationships.
Compensation
Annual salary: $135,000 – $150,000 USD.
