Manufacturing Estimator & Buyer - Mechanical Components & Assemblies

Can you read a drawing and know what the part should cost to make?

We want a buyer who thinks like a shop estimator — someone who breaks a part down by material, operations, setup, machine time and labor hours, builds a should-cost, and uses it to challenge supplier quotes and cut cost. We'll teach the purchasing side; you bring the manufacturing and estimating expertise.

What you'll do:

• Analyze RFQ/drawing packages and build should-cost estimates (material, operations, setup, cycle time, labor hours, finishing)
• Review supplier quotes, BOMs and routings for manufacturability — and challenge pricing that doesn't add up
• Propose alternative processes, materials or designs to Engineering to reduce cost
• Interpret complex 2D/3D drawings, GD&T and tolerances to drive sourcing strategy
• Manage suppliers, resolve non-conformities and mentor junior buyers

You're a great fit if you have:

• Hands-on manufacturing experience — you've quoted, estimated or produced real parts
• Expert drawing / GD&T interpretation
• Job-costing / should-cost fluency
• 7–10+ years in manufacturing — an Estimator, Machinist, Manufacturing/Process Engineer or CNC Programmer background is ideal

Salary range: $91,100–$110,400
