FirstFour Staffing is seeking a Senior Estimator for a client in Bay Minette, Alabama. This is a direct hire position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the bid calendar and the go/no-go decision on every opportunity, developed with input from operations leadership and the President
- Build and maintain the solicitation list for each pursuit, with input from operations leadership and field leadership
- Drive coverage actively — weekly follow-up by phone, text, email, and in-person meetings until the trade is covered.
- Perform and supervise quantity takeoffs, working alongside the staff estimator
- Support project management through buyout, including scope gap resolution and value engineering
- Visit active jobsites on a biweekly basis at minimum
Qualifications:
- Seven or more years of construction estimating experience with a general contractor
- Demonstrated experience estimating ground-up multifamily, senior living, or comparable repetitive residential product
- Proficiency in digital takeoff software and estimating platforms, and the appetite to lead a systems implementation
- Ability to read and interpret complete construction documents across all divisions
- Track record of building and maintaining subcontractor relationships, including active bid coverage management
- Self-directed working style — this role has no one assigning daily task
