- Develop, coordinate, and administer Environmental, Health, and Safety programs
- Oversee security at the East Providence, RI and Norwich, CT facilities
- Build collaborative relationships across multiple manufacturing facilities to create a zero-incident culture
- Champion zero-injury culture through visible leadership and employee engagement
- Lead safety initiatives, behavioral safety programs, and continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct Gemba walks, safety audits, and risk assessments
- Facilitate safety committees and safety observation programs at each facility
- Lead incident and near-miss reporting and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain contractor management and visitor security/safety programs
- Coach, mentor, and supervise employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management
- Ensure proper chemical handling, storage, and SDS documentation
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including fire safety, spill response, and evacuation drills
- Coordinate with local emergency responders
- Coordinate EHS training programs and facilitate onboarding safety training
- Maintain training records and compliance documentation
- Coach leaders on EHS policy, procedure, training, auditing, reporting, and tracking compliance
- Travel approximately 50–75% between facilities and related locations
Requirements
- BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety, another Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of experience in HSS compliance in an industrial manufacturing or chemical environment preferred
- Experience with OSHA record-keeping guidelines and administration
- Ability to think creatively and analytically
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational and motivational skills
- Proven ability to lead initiatives collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of a global organization
- Demonstrated ability to execute concurrent projects and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office
- Ability to make innovative connections from ideas to business-relevant opportunities
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the position and safety
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily in an office and manufacturing environment
- Ability to occasionally work around moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals
- Estimated travel requirement of 50–75%
