Responsibilities
- Manage enterprise storage platforms (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE)
- Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of storage infrastructure
- Participate in lifecycle management (procurement, upgrades, decommissioning)
- Optimize utilization across compute, storage, and network layers in integrated systems
- Identify inefficiencies across clusters, nodes, and storage tiers
- Support cost optimization efforts by right‑sizing resources
- Design and implement performance testing strategies
- Proactively identify capacity constraints and systemic bottlenecks
- Lead root cause analysis for performance degradation scenarios
- Analyze historical growth trends and predict future storage requirements
- Provide proactive recommendations to prevent capacity constraints
- Define thresholds, alerts, and reporting for storage utilization
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools for storage performance and capacity
- Produce dashboards and executive reports on utilization, trends, and risks
- Identify inefficiencies such as over‑provisioning or underutilization
- Work with infrastructure, application, and architecture teams
- Provide input into enterprise architecture and storage strategies
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Experience in enterprise storage engineering
- Strong experience with capacity planning and performance analysis
- Hands‑on experience with major storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, EMC, Pure, HPE)
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Pure1 Manage, vROps, Turbonomic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB)
- Knowledge of VMware, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes, or container storage
- Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
- ITIL framework familiarity
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Pure, NetApp, Dell EMC, Azure, AWS)
