Location: East Brunswick, NJ | Full-time, onsite, five days per week (10a - 3p office hours)

Base salary: $68,000–$112,000, depending on experience - flexible on comp

EVONA is supporting a growing RF hardware business seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join its engineering team.

You’ll work on amplifiers, microwave circuits and prototypes, helping engineers understand performance, resolve problems and prepare products for production. The company develops hardware used across defense, aerospace, unmanned systems and space applications.

The opportunity

• Work closely with engineers on new RF products and prototype hardware.
• Contribute to testing, troubleshooting and circuit refinement.
• Build deeper amplifier and tuning knowledge within a specialist team.
• Take on varied technical work as the department grows.

What you’ll do

• Plan and carry out RF measurements using appropriate instruments and test setups.
• Compare results with design targets and investigate performance discrepancies.
• Support circuit adjustments and microwave tuning under engineering guidance.
• Build and evaluate prototypes, fixtures and test assemblies.
• Document results, improve test procedures and support quality-system requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, assembly and production to keep development work moving.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years specifically in RF testing or engineering technician work, with current or recent hands-on experience.
• Confident use of network analyzers is essential.
• Experience with spectrum analyzers, signal generators and RF power meters.
• Practical electronics knowledge and a methodical troubleshooting approach.
• Experience supporting hardware development or manufacturing.
• Clear communication and reliable test documentation.

Useful additional experience

RF amplifier testing, microwave tuning, component-level troubleshooting, RF transistor characterization or Altium. Tuning training can be provided for candidates with strong RF fundamentals.

An electronics-related qualification is helpful, but practical capability matters more than degree background.
