Senior Nuclear Engineering ManagerThis is a technical and business development position within the Power Business Unit of Hatch. It provides an opportunity for professional growth to the selected individual within the nuclear power group by engaging in business development and project execution for studies, detailed design and owner's engineering work for our clients. The successful candidate will work as part of the Power team and work within the Nuclear Sub-BU in multi-disciplinary teams to undertake/complete assignments flawlessly.

Technical knowledge, project management, client engagement, business development, proposal management, and Project Management are core responsibilities. Reporting to the Global Director, Nuclear, and working closely with others in the Nuclear group and the rest of Hatch to ensure that all projects are completed in accordance with applicable codes and standards, Hatch's corporate policies and processes and to the full satisfaction of clients.Role & ResponsibilitiesPlan, execute and deliver high quality engineering and technical consulting services for nuclear power projectsManage assigned studies and projects for clients including interfacing and reporting to clients, monitoring and managing budget and schedules for nuclear power projects or studies;Provide mentorship to junior staff on specialized nuclear technical design and the nuclear engineering design processProvide support to other regions in the development and delivery of projects within Hatch;Review and approve technical deliverablesSupport business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals, pursuit plans for the nuclear Sub-BU;Manage the proposal process for RFPs, EOIs, RFQs, and other formatsQualificationsEngineering degree from a recognized collegeMinimum of 15 years of progressive experience within the nuclear power industryExperienced working in a consulting engineering environmentExperience with light water reactors and advanced reactor designsAbility to manage and motivate individuals to attain quality of deliverables, cost and schedule objectivesStrong deliverable focus, ability to plan the workBroad knowledge of codes and standards for the nuclear industryA high degree of understanding of inter-discipline dependenciesAble to prepare, read, and analyze engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, SLDs, plot plans, etc.)Proven track record in business development, development and maintenance of client relations;Flexibility for short term business travelsAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally);Ability to plan and write comprehensive project reportsTrack record of delivering projects on time and to budget;Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience within organizations and teams, people managerExperience in engineering, procurement and construction, and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):Strong understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projectsAbility to learn quickly and to take on new challengesCollaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsShows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challengesAdapts and embraces changeWhy join us?
