The team is responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and testing systems for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military applications. This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of APNT system and software architectures, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our navigation products for the warfighter.Collins Aerospace continues to build on a strong history of providing navigation equipment to meet the evolving needs of commercial and military users. Our navigation solutions provide enhanced situational awareness and pinpoint accuracy for airborne, maritime and surface missions worldwide allowing users of our equipment to complete their mission and return home.What You Will Do:As an on-site leader of this team, you will have the responsibility for leading and mentoring staff whose responsibilities span all phases of the software engineering life cycle. These responsibilities include requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, verification, and formal configuration management. This leader position will provide direction for tasks such as software capability development, integration of software onto target hardware, issue troubleshooting and resolution, supporting field demonstration and integration efforts, and mentoring. The successful applicant should be knowledgeable of the software development lifecycle and a proponent of the Agile method of software development.In addition to technical activities, responsibilities also include resource allocation and overall administrative management of the team. This position demands an ability and willingness to perform day-to-day employee engagement, coaching and mentoring, and employee development.
The role also requires employee performance excellence, including providing continuous feedback and performance correction, engagement check-ins, and administering formal performance management processes.
Responsibilities also include employee onboarding, training, and career development.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experienceMust have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
