Position Type: Direct Hire On-Site Required:Must-Have Technical Capabilities Experience with cable ratings and ampacity calculations.Thermal modeling of underground transmission systems (CYME/CYMCAP strongly preferred).High-voltage systems experience (33kV and above).Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and make design decisions without oversight.Education & Background Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's degree is a plusStrong engineering fundamentals with demonstrated independent technical responsibility.Experience in transmission environments (planning, operations, maintenance, or design).Preferred Hydraulic pipeline calculations (pressure drop, thermal performance, valve configurations).Experience with fluid-filled cable systems, including maintenance or restoration.Testing and commissioning of high-voltage cable systems.Cross-functional collaboration with utilities, manufacturers, or field teams.PE PreferredResponsibilitiesEstablish specifications for contracts, review bids, and make or approve field design changes.Conceive, plan, and design solutions or alternatives for new and refurbishment projects, including technical and economic evaluations, feasibility studies, specification preparation, and long-term planning.Perform engineering assignments at the request and direction of other engineering organizations.Serve as a sponsor engineer and collaborate with design, estimating, construction, testing, maintenance, and supply organizations for underground and overhead transmission line projects.Prepare project appropriations and direct the preparation of specifications and system designs for the installation and repair of transmission line systems and equipment.Prepare engineering sketches required to modify systems and monitor construction performed by company personnel or external forces.Provide recommendations for design improvements related to transmission line systems.Review preliminary engineering drawings and specifications with user coordinators.Train and oversee other engineers within the Section.Promote a positive work ethic in alignment with corporate values, maintain high energy, and demonstrate commitment to environmental excellence and workplace safety.Provide technical expertise and project management assistance as required.Get in Touch: We want to hear from you!
