Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually


About the Role:


As an Engineer you will play a critical role in the design, development, and manufacturing of high-precision fiber optic components used in industrial and medical devices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, and production to optimize assembly processes and troubleshoot technical challenges. This role demands a broad engineering skillset to drive manufacturing best practices with the goal of delivering assemblies that meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop fiber optic assemblies tailored for specific, highly stringent applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to establish and refine assembly processes that maximize efficiency, yield, and product quality.

  • Perform detailed testing and validation documentation of fiber optic assemblies to verify performance specifications and reliability under application use conditions.

  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to fiber optic components and assemblies, providing engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Document engineering activities, including design changes, test results, validations, and process improvements, maintaining thorough records for regulatory compliance.

  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality materials and components.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product design, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-market.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Familiarity with medical, industrial, and/or aerospace device manufacturing standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485 and FDA standards.

  • Proficient in validation of medical, industrial, and aerospace processes, equipment, and components.

  • Working knowledge of managing a design and development process in a highly regulated industry.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Experience working in a regulated medical device, aerospace, and/or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States of America

  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Experience in fiber optics technology, particularly in assembly, testing, or design of fiber optic components.

  • Understanding of biocompatibility and sterilization processes related to medical device assemblies.

  • Knowledge of cleanroom standards and practices.

  • The pay range for this salaried position is $80,000 -$120,000 annually including a target incentive.
