Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Micron’s Global Facilities Group is responsible for the planning, development, construction, and operation of world‑class semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure across Micron’s global network. The team leads complex capital projects, including U.S. Greenfield FAB developments, by combining engineering excellence, innovation, sustainability, and operational reliability. Working closely with Manufacturing, Construction, Procurement, IT, and Facilities teams, this organization ensures that critical infrastructure supports Micron’s advanced memory and storage technologies.
As a Mechanical Facilities Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, construction, optimization, and long‑term performance of mechanical systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing facilities. You will serve as a technical authority, helping deliver large‑scale infrastructure projects while driving standardization, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability across Micron’s global operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical systems for U.S. Greenfield FAB projects, ensuring safe, cost‑effective, and high‑quality project execution.
- Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, standards, and procedures for mechanical systems including HVAC, exhaust and abatement systems, vacuum systems, process chilled water, natural gas, and central utility systems.
- Collaborate with global, regional, and site partners across Facilities, Manufacturing, Construction, Procurement, IT, Operations, and external partners to achieve project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance of design reviews, construction activities, change management processes, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Support capacity planning, infrastructure assessments, and scenario modeling to ensure facilities systems meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by finding opportunities to enhance system performance, reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
- Serve as a mechanical systems authority, providing technical guidance, problem‑solving support, benchmarking, and lessons learned across Micron’s global network.
- Contribute to global facilities programs, sustainability initiatives, and the development of standards, specifications, and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to promote consistency and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
