What You’ll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for a DRAM application engineer to join our application engineering (AE) team in San Jose, CA. The engineer will provide technical support, troubleshoot urgent problems, detect potential issues early in product development, and coordinate with internal R&D teams. The role offers hands‑on experience with Samsung memory products, signal integrity (SI) and timing analysis measurements, and opportunities to develop and publish resolution updates.
- Partner effectively with key customers on memory validation and technical troubleshooting to diagnose root cause of system memory failures.
- Evaluate and validate memory‑related RAS features on next‑generation server CPUs.
- Proactively create experiments and tooling to detect and diagnose memory health issues.
- Perform DRAM SI/PI and timing analysis measurements.
- Develop and publish updates on resolutions and communicate findings internally.
- Drive discussions with external and internal teams on test specifications and methodologies to continuously improve test quality.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 5+ years of experience or Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience (industry experience preferred).
- Familiar with Unix/Linux Operating System and scripting languages.
- Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, etc.).
- Experience with DRAM memory products.
- Background in Signal Integrity/Power Integrity (SI/PI) and timing measurements.
- Familiar with modern server architectures and components (CPU, Memory, Networking, PCIe).
- Expertise in lab setup, maintenance, and precision PCB/component rework.
- Experience with test automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge in changing system configurations and measuring impact.
- Leadership skills for driving test plans and debug activities.
