Senior Engineer Compact Modeling

Overview

The Enablement team at Rapidus plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Process Design Kits (PDKs) to customers, enabling seamless and efficient design on Rapidus’s advanced nodes. Within this team, the Compact Modeling group is responsible for the accurate SPICE-level modeling of devices, bridging process development and design enablement.

Role

As a Senior Engineer in Compact Modeling , you will develop and maintain device model code and infrastructure for circuit simulation, enabling high-fidelity design on our state-of-the-art technologies. Your work will directly support advanced products for domains such as artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing, and mobile.

As indicated in the posting, the primary workplace for this role is expected to in Albany, New York, but we are also considering the possibility of hiring in California (Santa Clara) and in Japan (Tokyo&Chitose) for this role, based on candidate profiles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compact/SPICE device models using industry-standard simulation tools.
• Support PDK development by implementing accurate and scalable models for advanced devices.
• Collaborate with technology development teams to define test structures for model extraction and silicon correlation.
• Perform model validation across a wide range of design conditions, including corner cases.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams within Rapidus to deliver production-quality IP and PDK deliverables.

Qualifications

Required:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including:
• Semiconductor device physics and modeling.
• Programming in Python, Perl, and/or C/C++.
• Circuit simulation and compact model development (e.g., BSIM, PSP).
• Experience with SPICE-level device modeling or circuit design.
