Senior Engineer - Cloud (Sunnyvale, CA; US Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Engineer - Cloud (Sunnyvale, CA; US Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and evolving cloud-based backend systems that support large-scale security operations. The engineer will help shape distributed architectures, improve system reliability, and contribute to technical decisions across a highly collaborative engineering organization. The position also involves partnering with peers on debugging, telemetry, and performance optimization to support scalable platform outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $265,000 – $285,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust back-end software for cloud security systems.
• Implement distributed systems architecture for endpoint management.
• Support strategic initiatives for sensor telemetry and system debugging.
• Maintain high-performance cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with teams to integrate solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Design event-driven systems using modern messaging patterns.

Qualifications

• Expertise in building backend modules for distributed systems using microservices and containerization.
• Proven experience with major cloud platforms, leveraging managed services and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proficiency in database technologies, including Redis, Kafka, Postgres, and Elasticsearch.
• Skilled in developing REST APIs with security protocols like JWT and OAuth.
• Strong backend development skills in Go, Python, or Java with a focus on performance optimization.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities for complex distributed systems.
• Experience in a collaborative coding environment, including code reviews and design discussions.
