Senior Energy Procurement ManagerThe Senior Energy Procurement Manager will serve as the execution backbone of electricity and natural gas procurement activities. This role is responsible for translating market strategy into disciplined, repeatable execution while supporting revenue growth, margin protection, and scalable processes.This position partners closely with the Director of Energy Procurement and works cross-functionally with Sales and Sales Support teams.Procurement ExecutionLead end-to-end electricity and natural gas RFP processes for commercial and industrial clientsNormalize and analyze supplier pricing across terms, products, and structuresEvaluate and recommend procurement strategies aligned to client risk tolerance and objectivesSupport complex deal structures (fixed, block/index, collars, layered hedges)Ensure pricing accuracy, auditability, and documentation rigorMarket & Portfolio StrategyMonitor power and gas market fundamentals and pricing trendsProvide actionable market guidance internally and for client-facing discussionsSupport portfolio-level procurement planning across similar client segmentsProcess & Playbook DevelopmentBuild standardized procurement models, templates, and workflowsDevelop internal procurement playbooks and execution guidelinesTrain sales and support teams on procurement guardrails and best practices in coordination with the Director of Energy ProcurementMargin & Risk ManagementIdentify margin risks early in the deal lifecycleSupport post-deal review and pricing outcome analysisPartner with leadership to continuously improve deal quality and consistencyQualificationsRequired7–12 years of experience in electricity and/or natural gas procurementBackground at an energy advisory firm, broker, retailer, or similar organizationDeep understanding of procurement products and risk structuresStrong analytical skills; advanced Excel proficiencyAbility to communicate technical concepts clearlyPreferredExperience supporting CRE and/or C&I portfoliosExposure to portfolio or programmatic procurement strategiesPrior involvement in scaling procurement processes or teamsSuccess Metrics (Year 1)Consistent, high-quality procurement execution across accountsReduced deal cycle timesImproved pricing documentation and review disciplineAdoption of standardized procurement playbooksBENEFITS:MD Energy Advisors offers competitive salaries and benefits.
