Senior Embedded Systems EngineerWe are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of firmware and embedded software for real-time, resource-constrained products. This role will own end-to-end embedded solutions from hardware bring-up and board support to high-quality C++ firmware and architecture, working closely with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate combines deep embedded software expertise, hands-on hardware experience, RTOS knowledge, and demonstrated leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design and implementation of embedded firmware and software (primarily C/C++) for microcontroller-based products.Architect and develop real-time systems using RTOS, including task scheduling, synchronization, and low-latency interrupt handling.Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up, schematics review, PCB bring-up, and hardware/software integration.Create and maintain device drivers, BSPs, bootloaders, and communication stacks (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, etc.).Define software architecture, coding standards, and best practices; perform design reviews and code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of complex hardware/firmware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and other lab tools.Coordinate system-level testing, validation, and performance optimization (power, memory, latency) across hardware and firmware.Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers; help grow the teams embedded capabilities.Drive feature planning and delivery in sprint cycles; estimate tasks, manage technical risk, and communicate progress to stakeholders.QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.10+ years of professional experience developing embedded firmware and software; demonstrable C/C++ expertise.Proven experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, VxWorks, or similar) and real-time system design.Hands-on hardware experience including schematic review, PCB bring-up, interfacing with sensors and peripherals, and using lab instrumentation.Experience writing device drivers, bootloaders, and low-level BSP code; familiarity with MCU families (ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, etc.).Strong debugging skills with JTAG/SWD, hardware trace, logic analyzers, and serial protocols; ability to diagnose cross-domain issues.Solid understanding of embedded system constraints: memory management, power optimization, and timing determinism.Demonstrated leadership experience: mentoring engineers, leading technical projects, conducting reviews, and driving delivery.Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD for embedded, unit testing, and static analysis tools; experience with Agile development.Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across hardware, software, QA, and product teams.BenefitsMedical/Dental/Vision InsuranceAnnual incentive awards based upon the Company meeting established goals.Retirement and savings plansDisability and life insuranceFlexible Spending Account PlanPaid Vacation and HolidaysPrograms to help you balance work and personal life through our Perks at Work ProgramFitness center membership plansRecognition for outstanding employee performance
