Requirements
Must have:
- We need a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- We need at least 5 years of professional embedded software development experience.
- We need strong proficiency in Rust or C for embedded or systems-level programming.
- We need working knowledge of Python for tooling, automation, or test infrastructure.
- We need hands-on experience with embedded Linux, including kernel configuration, device drivers, or kernel module development.
- We need solid experience using Git, including branching workflows and collaborative development.
- We need proven software architecture experience, with the ability to design for scalability, maintainability, and reuse across teams.
- We need a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware or low-level software issues.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded software, including build automation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and automated firmware deployment.
- Preferred: familiarity with UL, ANSI, or similar hardware certification processes.
- Preferred: experience working with embedded industrial hardware.
- Preferred: familiarity with power distribution systems.
Responsibilities
- We write efficient, well-documented C code, and eventually Rust, for real-time and resource-constrained environments.
- We develop and maintain embedded Linux components such as kernel modules, drivers, and board support packages.
- We design embedded software architecture while balancing customer needs with technical constraints in partnership with sales and support.
- We build Python tools for test automation, build workflows, and diagnostics.
- We develop and maintain device drivers, bootloaders, and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and USB.
- We work closely with hardware engineering from early schematic review and component selection through bring-up, debugging, and validation.
- We optimize software for performance, memory usage, and power efficiency.
- We participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical design decisions.
- We collaborate with hardware, QA, and product management teams throughout the product lifecycle.
