Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Los Angeles, CA | Space & Defence

We’re partnering with an ambitious space company developing next-generation technology for space and national security applications.

They’re looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop the real-time software responsible for controlling complex electromechanical systems.

This is a hands‑on role sitting at the intersection of embedded software, controls and hardware, where timing, reliability and deterministic behaviour are critical.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop real‑time embedded software in C/C++


• Build software controlling motors, actuators, sensors and dynamic mechanical systems


• Translate controls algorithms and models into production software


• Develop interfaces between software and embedded hardware


• Lead software/hardware integration, debugging and validation

We’re interested in engineers with:

• 5+ years of embedded or real‑time software development experience


• Strong C/C++


• Hands‑on embedded hardware integration experience


• Experience working with sensors, actuators, motors or other dynamic hardware


• Understanding of controls and experience implementing control algorithms in software

Your background could come from space, defence, aerospace, robotics, autonomous vehicles, flight controls or other safety‑critical embedded systems.

You don't need to have spent your entire career in space. If you've built software that directly controls real‑world hardware where milliseconds matter, we'd like to hear from you.

Due to the nature of the programs, candidates must either hold an active U.S. security clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain one.

This is an opportunity to join a small engineering team, take genuine technical ownership and build systems from the ground up.
