Salary: $106,000 -$142,000 plus 12.5% bonus

Job Summary

Client’s Fluid Systems Division is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong experience in C programming, microcontrollers, and regulated/safety-critical environments . The ideal candidate will have experience developing, verifying, and integrating embedded software and must have demonstrated project leadership experience from start to finish .

This role is approximately 75% hands-on software development and 25% project management/leadership .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test embedded software in C for microcontroller-based systems.
• Develop software requirements, design, code, integration, and verification activities.
• Perform requirements-based testing on target hardware using real and simulated I/O.
• Ensure software compliance with applicable standards and development processes.
• Perform requirements-to-code traceability and support software certification/audits.
• Work closely with Systems and Hardware Engineering teams.
• Lead software projects from planning through execution and delivery.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional coordination.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development, verification, or integration experience.
• Strong C programming and microcontroller experience.
• Experience working in a regulated, safety-critical, or highly controlled environment .
• Mandatory project leadership experience — must have owned and delivered a project from start to finish.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with DO-178/DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN 50128, IEC 62304 , or similar standards.
• SCADE / model-based development.
• DOORS / DOORS Next Generation.
• ARM microprocessors.
• CANbus, ARINC, or RS-232.
• Aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, railway, or industrial embedded systems.
• Agile project execution.
