Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team developing innovative, connected embedded products. This is an opportunity to work across the full embedded software lifecycle—from low-level firmware and microcontroller development through debugging, optimization, hardware integration, and product delivery.

You’ll work closely with electrical, hardware, systems, and software engineers to develop reliable firmware for low-power, connected, and battery-operated devices. The role is well suited to an experienced embedded engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and seeing their work become part of real-world products.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
  • Develop software in embedded C/C++ for low-power and connected devices.
  • Work with both bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware architectures.
  • Develop and integrate Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and other wireless connectivity solutions.
  • Work with communication technologies and protocols including Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and cellular connectivity.
  • Develop firmware for battery-powered and power-constrained products, with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • Work with microcontroller peripherals and interfaces including I²C, SPI, GPIO, ADC, CAN, and UART.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and electrical engineers to bring products from concept through development and production.
  • Read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and hardware specifications.
  • Perform firmware verification, troubleshooting, analysis, and optimization.
  • Use tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and other test equipment to diagnose hardware and software issues.
  • Contribute to technical requirements, architecture, design decisions, and engineering documentation.
  • Help identify and resolve complex system-level issues across hardware and software.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional embedded software development experience, or equivalent depth of hands-on experience.
  • Strong programming experience in embedded C/C++.
  • Extensive experience developing firmware for microcontrollers, particularly ARM-based platforms such as STM32 or NXP.
  • Experience with a range of embedded architectures or platforms such as AVR, PIC, or DSPs is valuable.
  • Experience with BLE/Bluetooth and connected IoT products.
  • Experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded development.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals, hardware interfaces, and embedded system architecture.
  • Experience developing software for low-power or battery-operated systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex embedded systems using hardware and software debugging tools.
  • Ability to read schematics and work comfortably with hardware engineers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Silicon Labs BG22E and Simplicity Studio.
  • Experience designing microcontroller or microprocessor subsystems.
  • Understanding of power, thermal, and timing considerations in embedded systems.
  • Experience defining or refining technical requirements.
  • Experience working directly with customers, clients, or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Why Join?

  • Work on real-world embedded and connected products from concept through development.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers across embedded software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, systems, and other disciplines.
  • Take ownership of technically challenging projects and have a visible impact on the final product.
  • Work in an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Access opportunities for professional development, training, and growth.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits based on experience and expertise.
  • 9/80 work schedule with an on-site working environment.
  • Be part of a team that values engineering excellence, creativity, and camaraderie.
