Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Cedar Rapids

Salary: $86,800 - 165,200 per year

• STEM degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software, communications, cybersecurity, or a related engineering discipline
• Experience developing embedded software using object-oriented design
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; an active DoD Top Secret clearance is required after the first day
• Strong communication and presentation skills across organizational levels preferred
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical industries preferred
• SCI eligibility, experience integrating or deploying software on system-on-chip hardware, and proficiency with C/C++ and Python preferred
• Experience developing or securing applications with modern software practices, or working with modern software development pipelines, preferred

• Contribute to research and development projects in cybersecurity
• Collaborate with hardware, software, communications, and systems engineers to develop, integrate, and assess cybersecurity technologies
• Support demonstrations and testing of emerging cybersecurity solutions and capabilities
• Help prepare technical proposals and support government-sponsored research and development activities
• Work with technology stakeholders across Collins and with customers to advance project objectives
• Travel up to 10% of the time
