You'll be working on cutting-edge technology that's transforming the mining and heavy equipment industries, implementing robust firmware solutions for some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with bare-metal microcontroller firmware, debugging and identifying issues with novel hardware, and ground-up implementation of firmware for circuits in a real-world environment.What You'll DoRead and interpret complex electrical schematics and understand the physical functionality of custom-built PCBsCollaborate with electrical and software engineers to develop comprehensive specifications for new hardwareDevelop firmware for custom boards from the ground up based on schematic designs and functional requirementsExtend and enhance existing firmware codebases to support new features and capabilitiesExamine, document, and develop interfaces for existing third-party vehicle communications systemsImplement firmware for drive-by-wire retrofit systems on new vehicle platformsSupport field installations and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues at customer sitesWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is requiredStrong experience with embedded systems and real-time control applicationsProficiency with common communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.)Experience with at least one CAN protocol (e.g. J1939, CanOpen) or LIN is a plusDeep understanding of electronics and their physical operation, capabilities, and limitationsHands-on experience with electrical hardware implementation, testing, and validation from concept through productionExceptional debugging skills across software, firmware, and hardware domainsExperience in interfacing with off-highway vehicles (such as dozers or skid-steers) or passenger cars is a great plusAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentWillingness to travel occasionally for field deploymentsWhy Join UsWork on real, production-deployed autonomy.Build technology that directly improves safety, efficiency, and productivity.Tackle complex challenges in demanding, real-world environments.Be part of a fast-moving team with high ownership and impact.See your work deployed and making a difference in the field.Collaborate closely with experienced engineers and industry operators.This role is based in our San Francisco office location.

That's why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.The base salary range for this role is $182,000 - $230,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package.
