Senior Electronics EngineerEV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time Senior Electronics Engineer for one of our partners that develops and manufactures advanced robotic and electromechanical systems used in demanding industrial and commercial environments. In this position, you will design, prototype, test, and continuously improve the electronic systems that power next-generation robotic platforms, working hands-on with power electronics, embedded firmware, sensor systems, communications hardware, and integrated control systems.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and validate electronic subsystems for advanced robotic platforms, including power conversion circuits, motor control systems, sensor interface hardware, and communications modulesCreate and maintain circuit schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard design tools such as Altium DesignerEvaluate and select components based on performance, reliability, availability, manufacturability, and cost targetsDesign and troubleshoot battery management systems, including charging circuits, protection mechanisms, and state-of-charge monitoringCollaborate with software and systems engineering teams to define hardware requirements and ensure successful integrationDevelop, test, and debug low-level firmware for embedded microcontrollers and programmable logic devicesImplement and validate communications protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, and other industrial interfacesDesign electronics for operation in harsh and environmentally challenging conditionsVerify compliance with EMC, safety, and product reliability requirementsDevelop and execute comprehensive validation and qualification test plansTroubleshoot field-reported issues using structured root-cause analysis methodologiesMaintain engineering documentation including schematics, bills of materials, design files, test procedures, and validation reportsSupport manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams during product introduction and productionWork closely with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure successful product development and deploymentProvide technical support for customer-facing teams through documentation, demonstrations, and troubleshooting assistanceContribute to product roadmap planning and future technology development initiativesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related technical discipline5+ years of experience designing and developing electronic systemsStrong experience with power electronics, motor control systems, and DC power architecturesProficiency in PCB design using Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar toolsExperience with embedded microcontrollers and low-level hardware integrationSolid understanding of analog and digital circuit design, signal conditioning, and sensor integrationStrong troubleshooting skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipmentExperience creating and maintaining technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycleExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in both engineering lab and manufacturing environmentsAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneouslyWillingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%) as neededAbility to lift up to 50 pounds when handling equipment and test systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience developing electronics for robotics, automation, industrial equipment, aerospace, marine, energy, or other ruggedized applicationsFamiliarity with Linux and embedded software development environmentsExperience with brushless motor control systems and motion-control applicationsKnowledge of environmental protection techniques such as conformal coating, sealing, or ruggedized electronics designFamiliarity with IPC, IEC, UL, MIL-STD, or similar industry standardsExperience supporting products through prototype, validation, and production phasesBenefits:Competitive base salary (DOE)Performance-based bonus opportunitiesHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matchPaid time offCompany-paid holidaysProfessional development and training opportunitiesOpportunity to work on innovative technology products with real-world impact
