We are partnering with a general contractor delivering large‑scale commerical, educaction, pharmaceutical and healthcare construction projects across the Mid‑West. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead on high‑value, technically complex projects for projects based in Chicago.

This is a senior field leadership role overseeing high‑voltage power infrastructure, low‑voltage systems, and coordinated MEP execution within fast‑paced, zero‑downtime environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all MEP field operations on education and healthcare projects from mobilization through commissioning and turnover
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of high‑voltage and medium‑voltage systems, including substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution
  • Provide hands‑on supervision of low‑voltage systems, including BMS, EPMS, security, fire alarm, and structured cabling
  • Coordinate closely with MEP trade partners, commissioning agents, inspectors, engineers, and client representatives
  • Manage multiple electrical & mechanical superintendents, foremen, and large union/non‑union workforces
  • Drive strict adherence to safety, quality control, QA/QC, and mission‑critical best practices
  • Maintain schedule compliance through lookahead planning, manpower forecasting, and material coordination
  • Act as the primary electrical point of contact on site for owners, GCs, and AHJs

Required Experience & Background

  • Proven experience as a Superintendent on local school, university, K-12 and education construction project types
  • Demonstrated experience delivering low‑voltage system installations (BMS, EPMS, security, FA, structured cabling)
  • Deep understanding of power distribution, redundancy, commissioning, and turnover requirements
  • Experience working alongside or coordinating full MEP scopes strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage large crews across multiple buildings or phases
  • Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM/VDC platforms
  • Willingness to work in Chicago

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of MEP Construction Experience
  • 10+ years of working on commercial, education, healthcare or pharma construction
  • Must have local Chicago Construction Experience
