The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that haven’t existed for over a decade. As a result, our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Power Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

Responsibilities
- Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale power and renewable energy, including serving in a traditional Owner’s Engineer role.
- Extensive experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs (raceway, lighting, grounding).
- Mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to RFPs.
- Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to staff as needed.
- Travel is expected to be less than 10% for client meetings and project site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm
- Excellent communication, written and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team
- Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, lighting and grounding design, instrumentation and control, and life-safety systems
- Ability to work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed
- Experience directing other engineering professionals and mentoring staff
- Less than 10% travel
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer license (PE or P.Eng)
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)

Compensation and Location
The compensation range depends on skills, experience, education, and location. The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is approximately $108,661 - $204,250.
