Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for conceptual designs and new region expansion projects.
- Develop budgets for new projects within existing regions.
- Attend site walks as needed to gather information for estimates and proposals.
- Assist in the development of project proposals and bid documentation.
- Collaborate with Pre-Construction Managers to maintain a comprehensive database of bid documents.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to ensure smooth transitions from bid to execution.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Oversee RFI (Request for Information) and submittal processes.
- Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue for the organization.
- Manage relationships with internal teams and external partners while on site.
- Utilize estimation tools and templates for various project types, including risk assessments.
- Maintain and manage a repository of historical cost data and performance metrics.
- Analyze vendor proposals and provide timely feedback using benchmark data.
- Validate cost impacts of large or complex project changes.
- Manage revision control for scope and estimates related to new designs and innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or cost control, with specific knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and ASC cost elements.
- Experience with data center projects is a plus.
- Proven experience building or expanding estimating or cost control programs within large organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and train teams.
- Strong ability to interpret contract terms, conditions, and exhibits as they relate to project requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
