Onsite Contract General

Senior Electrical EngineerDexmate is building the foundation for physical AI — combining a new generation of robots with a universal Physical AI OS that makes robots as easy to build and deploy as software. Today, robotics is fragmented, slow, and closed: most builders are forced to reinvent the same stack again and again, and most ideas never make it past the prototype stage.Dexmate's mission is to democratize robotics by lowering the barrier to entry, delivering a plug-and-play platform for developers, researchers, and enterprises, and cultivating an open ecosystem that accelerates the evolution of physical AI.Dexmate is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate the core electrical subsystems of their general-purpose robot platforms. You will own power electronics, motor drive circuits, sensor integration, and PCB design — from schematic through bring-up to production-ready hardware. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role.

You will make architecture decisions, drive subsystems end-to-end, and be accountable for hardware that ships on every unit. What You'll DoOwn end-to-end design of power electronics subsystems including battery management, power distribution, protection circuits, and DC-DC conversionDesign and validate motor drive circuits for high-performance actuation, including FOC/BLDC/PMSM control topologiesDesign sensor integration circuits for IMUs, encoders, hall-effect sensors, force/torque sensors, and thermal sensorsCreate schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools (Altium, Cadence Allegro, or KiCad), owning the full cycle from concept through layout review, prototype bring-up, and production releasePerform circuit simulation (LTspice or equivalent) and systematic hardware validation using oscilloscopes, current probes, power analyzers, and spectrum analyzersApply EMI/EMC design principles from the start; support FCC, CE, and UL certification as the product moves toward commercial deploymentDrive DFM/DFA decisions to ensure designs are manufacturable and testable at production scaleConduct board-level bring-up, power-on sequencing, and subsystem verificationCollaborate with firmware engineers on hardware/software interfaces and with mechanical engineers on physical integration and thermal constraintsDocument designs with the rigor required for CM handoff and engineering reviewYou Should Have5+ years of electrical engineering experience in robotics, industrial automation, automotive, or consumer electronics, with at least one product shipped to productionHands-on PCB design experience in industry-standard EDA tools for complex multi-layer boards with high-speed digital, power, and mixed-signal on the same designProven experience designing power electronics including BMS, power distribution, protection circuits, or DC-DC conversionMotor drive design experience with BLDC, PMSM, or servo drive circuits, ideally with FOC topologyStrong bench skills across oscilloscope, current probe, power analyzer, logic and spectrum analyzer, and signal integrity debugExperience with DFM/DFA and working directly with contract manufacturersExperience designing complex multilayer PCBs (8+ layers) including controlled impedance routing, mixed-signal design, and high-speed differential pairsNice to HaveExperience taking a product through FCC, CE, or UL certification including EMC pre-compliance testingFunctional safety design experience including ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or equivalentFamiliarity with embedded firmware at the hardware/firmware boundary — enough to co-debug with firmware engineers without needing translationExperience with high-density or thermally-constrained PCB layoutsBackground in production test fixture design and manufacturing rampProficiency in Python or similar scripting for test automationExperience with AI-assisted EDA or coding tools in your design workflowCompensation: Base Salary: $100,000 - $300,000, depending on experience, plus equity.
